New Year, New Day

I have a peace about things today. Jakob and I went with my mom and her dog Pepper to visit my sis up in Cleveland, TN. It was probably one of the best times we've ever had together. We played this Wii dance game, my mom even played! What a riot that was. We had a blast. Ate some yummy food, opened Christmas gifts, went to the mall with the girls. Good times. She's got some pretty amazing kids.

I look at my sis though, a single mother with 7 kids, and think WOW, she looks so put together, you'd never know her struggles. And I know that it's Jesus, and she'll tell you that it's Jesus. Only our gracious King of Kings and Lord of Lords can bring that kind of peace. And I thank God for her influence in my life. And I remember that it was her, her role modeling, her prayers, her love for me that helped lead me to the foot of the cross, to know the everlasting love of our heavenly father. For that, I'm forever grateful.

I still feel a bit nervous but excited about what lies ahead in my job area. I feel kind of like I'm starting a new job tomorrow. A new adventure lies ahead and it's always exciting to see how the Lord will work things out, and I know He will.

Some things on my TO DO list for 2011:
  • Cooking for my family more; I've fallen out of this habit and I really love to cook.
  • Taking more short trips with the family; we used to do this alot and I miss it.
Well, I better get to bed. It's gonna be a busy week.
